Hippie ispired OOTD

I think that this outfit looks like it's a bit hippie inspired - Feel all I am missing are knee high socks and flowers in my hair. I bought the dress from a blog sale from Rikke/StickySweetDane. And I feel in love with it straight away! But even tough I like wearing bright colors I had problems getting around wearing this dress. I originally wanted to wear this dress with leopard printed tights but of course they tore when I was putting them one. So I had a quick accessories and tights change.

IGNORE the horrible windy photos in the beginning. I just wanted to give you a better lighting quality and photo quality but we still have wind and rain - in all sh*tty weather. SO I tried retaking them when I got home but you can see the wrinkles from sitting down.

 What I Wore :
Dress - from ASOS Curve / bought it from a blogsale
Tights - from Evans
Vest - from New Look Inspire
Feather Earrings - from ebay
Silver Belt - from ASOS Curve

*I found the earring by using the search words long black feather earrings*

I wore this dress to a girls night dinner party at a friends - we have this tradition that once a month we take turns hosting a dinner party with theme - this girl choose "Gossip Girl". I didn't go all out like I like too do but I felt like a lady so kinda gossip girl like. I am thinking about having a "big bang theory" theme - we have to make the food fit in to your theme - I have only so far figured out that I want to make cheese cake for dessert since Penny works at the cheese factory. And serve drinks in those chemistry looking tubes. Other then than I am still blank, but I have almost 2 months before it's my turn!

What else is new? We (me and my boyfriend) are remodeling! We on of your living rooms done, so we only have the kitchen, 2 bathrooms and the washing room to do. And everything sounds so easy UNTIL you get started! Just painting the doors with, they are natural wood but have gotten so dark with time and I wanted everything to be light, so we painted them with. And one door needs 2 coats of primer and one with paint and the door has too dry for 2 days between coats - and this is just one side! And I have 6 doors left. Thank God I have vacation coming up!

Well enough ranting for now!
Hope everyone is doing well and since we still don't have any sunshine, feel free and send some too me!

I am loving the style of..

If you don't know this beautiful face yet you need too youtube her : Carly Rae Jepsen. She's 26 year old singer/songwriter hot right now with the song : Call Me Maybe. She makes me want to dye my hair dark again. And grow it long! She has so cute relaxing bohemian style with is easy to recreate.

In this picture below she is wearing a yellow dress paired with a red belt. I bought a yellow dress from ASOS Curve a couple of days ago and was in a little of bit chock when I recived it. It was SO yellow and I had no idea how to style it. I refuse to stay with in the safe zone and pair the dress with black accessories - black and yellow make me think of a bee. So I think I am going to pair it with a red belt, some nude shoes silver accessories and maybe a nude color cardigan depending on what the weather is like. We still have snow - I cant wait until we get better weather, at least dryer weather. I can't stand more water or snow. The yellow dress that I bought is unfortunately sold out but ASOS has at this time 4 other yellow dresses for sale.

Polka...

Dress/Tunic - Secondhand - from South
Black tights - from Evans
Black cardigan - from H&M+
White belt from Torrid (old stock)
Black boots from eBay

So I friend called me at almost midnight and asked if we should go out for a beer and I felt like dressing a little bit up. I bought this polka dot tunic at a secondhand store a couple of weeks ago and never got around to using it.

My hair is finally growing and I can almost fit it all into a ponytail. I CAN'T wait until it get to a length where I can curl it and style it. I have been thinking about coloring it some crazy color. I am actually in love with the faded coloring hairstyle that's going on right now but I have to wait until after my boyfriends 30th birthday in July - we are having family photos taken with our families and I think I may regret having pink faded hair in the photos :)

See you around!

Happy New Year!

What I Wore :

Blue dress from ASOS - on sale right now!
Black tights from Yours Clothing
Black Cardigan from South - old
Gold metallic belt from ASOS - on sale!
Gold bead necklace - eBay
Gold bird necklace - eBay
Purse - Christmas gift from my dad

Let's hope it's a great 2012. I have a lot of plans - try to get my nerves together and apply to a school - not that hard. But the fact that it's in another country is hard. I don't want to move but when you live in a country where the population is about 48.000 people you don't have too many educations to choose from.  I want to be better at posting photos on here - I will be better at providing better photos with better lighting. I want to try to wear less black and blue. I am going to clean out my closet! Before the end of February -  now I have a date so I have to stick to it! ;)

What are your plans for the new year?

Merry Christmas!

..or as we say Gleðilig Jól! I have had a busy couple of days. Me and my boyfriend hosted for the first time Christmas at our house. So we have had our hands full with making dinner, deserts and baking + entertaining our family. My father tried for the first time - the Wii! Needless to say he had a great time. I don't need to worry about what to get him for his birthday ;o)

I must say I have been spoiled rotten this year. I think I got way expensive gift and all gift I wished for! I will post pictures of the gifts on a later date. Today is what we call the 2nd day of Christmas (the 26th of December) we in Europe open our presents on the eve of Christmas (the 24th) - one day before the people in the states - why? I do not know. I have to Google that later.

I am, as I am writing this, making dinner - sheep meat in a special faroese way - the sheep are slathered and we hang the meat up in a barn like house for about 6 weeks to dry. It's something in the faroese air, I think the salt from the sea that gives the meat a strong smell and taste that most foreigners don't like but it makes our mouths water. I will provide photos later too :o) If only we had smell-o-vision.

Today I have two old OOTD's to show you. It's two laid back outfits that I wore two weeks ago but never posted because I didn't think they were all that special. But I have been a bad blogger these days and haven't been taking photos. But I will take photos of my Christmas outfit today and post them later or tomorrow. Until then hope you are all having a great Christmas :o)

Never again regret..

So I regret not buying this from Evans last year when it was in stock. I listen to everybody other than myself. And I shouldn't always listen to everyone else. Most of my friends like classic black clothes or have this bohemian style while I have this raven quality too myself I love sparkles and bright colors and fell in love with this tunic dress straight away but all my friends told me that I would never use it because it's to bright and sparkling. So I didn't buy it - and regret it as soon as the item sold out online. I have since been trolling eBay for one. Without luck :o/

So my advice is - do you love it and think you will wear it!? - do you have the money?! GO for it! Listen too yourself, and try to challenge yourself and love yourself. People around you mean well but they don't always know you and your body. I leave you with a beautiful photo of the garment.

**UPDATE** thank God and creative people for eBay. I managed to get my hands on one of these!

My dream outfit - September 2011

Red Gaga dress - Yours Clothing - 22 £
Black/White Tights - Yours Clothing - 8 £
Black Gloves - Yours Clothing - 8 £
Black Waist Belt - Yours Clothing - 10 £
Multi Punk Bangles - eBay - 4,84 £
Black Ankle Boots - eBay - 22,98 £

So I was on a group forum for plus size girls trying to buy fashionable clothes. And a girl was talking about the GAGA dress from yours clothing. I asked her for a link since I didn't know what dress they were chatting about and she showed me this beautiful red dress and I straight way thought about one of the dresses shown in season 7 of project runway. I feel in love with the look as soon as the model stared to walk down the runway.
I have before bought red dresses. 3 times before to be exacted. The first one I sold on eBay, the second one I gave away to a friend and the 3rd one is still hanging in my closet unused. It's from Evans - I ordered it from online, tried it on and didn't really love the way it fit. I think I am going to order the dress, tights and belt and wear the outfit! What do you think?

OOTD - ASOS floral dress

What I wore :
ASOS floral dress - size UK24
on sale @ ASOS for 19£
Black cardigan - size XL from Vera Moda - old collection
Black ballerinas - size EU40 from Graceland

I really like this dress, it's light in material and come down to right above my knees. I would prob. go a dress size down. I originally ordered it in a UK size 26 since I normally use a size 24 and was told everywhere to size up when buying ASOS Curve. So I sent it back and ordered a smaller size. I could easily have gone a dress size more down. But I don't mind that it has a bit loose fit for the summer. Nothing wears than a tight piece of clothing sticking onto your skin when your melting!

I wore this dress with a cardigan since we keep having rain after rain here in the Faroe Islands. Can't wait for summer weather to get here. On another note! ASOS are having a super huge sale and there are a lot of cute summer clothing on sale. And the best part? They offer free international shipping! *YEAH*

OOTD Red'n'Pink

Inspiration! It's a funny thing. Sometimes I get inspiration from people in the street, sometimes a color. Most of the time it's the beautiful people on the internet - Today's outfit came from a photo in the magazine "WOMAN" number 162 - No matter what size you are, open your mind and let inspiration come too you! The dress isn't available any more but they have some dresses in the same model but in different colors, they are so great to wear, the color stays on great, shape is great and the material is light = perfect for summer! the link is here Ellos dress Note! I have this dress in green, black, blue, floral print and pink. If I buy more this year I would definitely go for the one in "lys rosa" light pink. I've fallen in love with neutral colors.

See how serious I am - Twirling is hard in high heels! :)

Pink dress - Ellos size EU 52
Red Cardigan - H&M size EU 42
Belt - H&M size L
Shoes - No Name size UK 7/EU 40
Necklace - H&M
Butterfly ring - H&M adjustable size
other rings - H&M set size L
Earrings - street market

The plus size with all the pink and red - it makes my blue eyes seem even more blue! Have a great Sunday everyone, 12 days too go and I have my final test. WISH ME LUCK!

P.S. Would you like to see more post like this? Where I show you where I get my inspiration from?

Sunday Sunshine!!

It's finally summertime! =) I wore a dress out in public and with no dance to go too! That's first one for me. I've worn skirt or long dresses, but never that was that short. But I have made a deal with myself to try clothes I want to wear but never have the bravery too do. This is me and my boyfriend. I made him go for a walk since the sun was shining. Poor thing! You should have heard him. I think there have to be more walk for us two in the future! I wore as little accessories as possible. I hoped to get some color from the sun, but no! Even though my skin is fair I never get any color. But never mind. I am used to being pale.

What I Wore :

Purple Dress - South, size UK 24
Black Cardigan - Vera Moda, size XL
Black Tights - Evans, size 2
White Sunglasses - eBay Unisex Ski glasses
Shoes - Graceland, Size 40
Ring, Lucky Brand
Bracelets, all from H&M - some are over 4 years old.
And on my nails I have a combination of these nail polishes

old friends meet again...

So last night I went to a party at a old friend of mine. The people at the party were just people that used to hang out together 10 years ago but with time have lost the daily contact. It was nice! Weird seeing everybody so grown up! But I must admit I have a bit of a hang over today so this is a short blog post.
What I wore :
Black Cardigan - H&M BiB, size XL
White T-shirt with print - H&M BiB, size XL
Jeans Shorts - Ebay, size UK 22
Purple tights - Evans, size 2
Shoes - Graceland, size EU 40

I wore my favorite rings - the swirl one I actually found on the street a couple of years ago and I love it! The butterfly one is from H&M and a size L. And some random news - I won this dress on ebay while writing this blogpost! *SQUEEEK* sound of happiness! I was too late to buy it when it was on sale at ASOS Curve. I want to wear it with some lime green tights and a black short cardigan... Can't wait until I get it in the mail!

Happy Weekend Fashion Lovers

My costume from last night

I woke up this morning feeling actually great! That's weird considering how much beer I drank last night. But I wont complain about that! We had a lot of fun last night. Everyone showed up dressed - and I was wayyy under dressed. The boys went all out this time even my boss shaved his hair into a Mohawk.

Ignore the second photo! I have no idea what weirdo me is up to! I wore a black linen tunic from South and tights from Evans. I didn't feel like wearing a mask for the whole night so I youtube search dark makeup and came across Miss Chievous video of dark Halloween makeup. Check out her channel here : http://www.youtube.com/user/MissChievous I already had a pair of black wings and pair all that with my Evans boots that I wore in the Sunday Brunch blog post. Next time I am so going to plan better what I want to wear and maybe get some stuff of eBay. OH yeah!  I meet a girl that was dressed as a Avatar - she was blue all over and she used 8 hours for just the blue paint. She also had a brown linen dress that she made herself. I was impressed by all the creativity last night.

Now I am going to pull my behind out of bed and get dressed and find my way into the city to buy some junk food and catch a movie. Have fun everyone!

Date night ended with a drunk call on Skype

Well by the title you can kinda guess what happen. I was getting dressed - ready for a date night with my boyfriend when we got a call on skype from two friends in Denmark, who were drinking. Well 4 hours later - the movie had started and ended and my boyfriend was sleeping. So I decided to blog a little and create a blog banner for my blog. I also uploaded a video to YouTube - It's just a video where I do my makeup and set my hair. Gettin' ready for a night out with my sweatheart - that ended in fail!

The pink top is a bright pink top from Vera Moda it's a European size XL. The black cardigan is also from Vera Moda and is also a size XL. The cardigan is a sheer wool material. It's OLD! And one of my favourite cardigans to wear. The black belt is a belt that came with a black skirt I bought from Yours Clothing. The neclace is from - again - Vera Moda and is a gold chain with a gold swallow and a bigger black swallow. I dont shop that much at Vera Moda since they only have clothes up to a EU size 44 and I am a size 52. But they have a line called basic where the tops come in 3 different lenghts - yeah for apple shapes like me! Most tops end upp as short tube tops because I am wide and tall!

The skirt is from simply be and is multipul layers of ruffel. I choose not to wear tights or leggings this time since I had nice and shaved leggs *giggles!* I dont mind showing off my legs - The flat pumps are from Ellos and I have had them since 2005. They were cheap! So cheap I got them in bright red and cobalt blue too. I like shopping at Ellos - you just have too be carefull - some of there items are sometime made of crappy material so after two washes it can look like something you have had for years. But they have great shipping and returning service.

I am wearing a silver butterfly ring from H&M, it's about 2 to 3 years old. The orange ring is from eBay. I buy a lot of jewelry from eBay and from H&M - I lose my jewelry a lot so I don't spend a lot of money on expensive jewelry. The bangles are also from H&M they are from last summer and all belong together - it was a set of 12 different bangles. That's all I have to say about my outfitt for tonight I will try to post two outfitts a week. I work in a store and wear a uniform daily. So I don't get to wear som many cute outfitts as I want too.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!
Karina
